Sanctuary Rules
Please keep in mind when visiting, that you are visiting a wolfdog sanctuary. Our utmost priority is safeguarding the well-being of our wolfdogs. These magnificent creatures have had unfortunate encounters with humans before finding solace in our sanctuary, and as a result, they can exhibit fear towards people they do not know. Given their heightened sensitivity compared to regular dogs, we kindly request that you adhere to the following rules during your visit to ensure the uninterrupted tranquility of our wolfdogs.
Animals
No pets are allowed at any time on the grounds of Blue Mountain Wolves Sanctuary, including service animals and animals left in vehicles. The sensitive nature of the wolfdogs makes it highly disruptive to have other animals, especially dogs, on-site. Should we notice an animal in your vehicle, we will ask you to leave the Sanctuary immediately. Please make prior arrangements for your animals if traveling with them.
Children
Children under 18 years of age must always be accompanied by a legal guardian when visiting Blue Mountain Wolves Sanctuary. We kindly request that children refrain from running, wandering, or behaving loudly on our Sanctuary grounds. To ensure a stress-free environment for our wolfdogs, it is important to monitor children at all times and keep them close by. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in respecting our policies, as any parent, guardian, or child not adhering to them will be asked to leave.
Energy
Dogs are attuned to the energy and emotional states of people, wolves and wolfdogs however possess an even heightened sensitivity to this. The tranquility maintained during our tours directly influences the composure of all the wolfdogs on-site, making it more likely for them to approach fence lines for better viewing. Thus, we ask all visitors to arrive in and maintain a calm and peaceful energy or demeanor while visiting the Sanctuary.
Dress Code
We are located in the mountains of the PNW and you will be outside for your entire visit. Depending on the season, day temperatures can range from 15°F – 95°F, so please check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. We also ask that you not wear any fur, this includes faux fur or large amounts of leather i.e. jackets, or pants.
*LONG PANTS AND FLAT CLOSED-TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED.
